This policy explains, in plain terms, exactly what information CirclingMaze ("the app," "we," "us") and the third-party services it relies on collect, why each piece of it is collected, and what choices you have. We built this app to work without requiring an account, and we do not operate our own servers that store your personal data.
What we collect, and why
Below is every category of data connected to using CirclingMaze, in order of how central it is to the app working at all.
1. Motion / tilt data — required for the app to function
What: your device's real-time accelerometer and gyroscope readings (the "gravity vector" — how far the device is tilted on each axis).
Why: this is the app's entire control scheme. Tilting the device is how you move the balls through the maze — without reading this data, the game literally cannot be played. There is no alternative control method.
Where it goes: nowhere but your device's memory, for the current session only. It is read, used to update ball positions on screen roughly 60 times per second, and then discarded. It is never written to disk, never transmitted off the device, and never seen by us or any third party.
2. Purchase / transaction data — only if you choose to donate
What: confirmation that a donation ($0.99, $2.99, $4.99, or $9.99) was completed, along with the product ID and a transaction ID. We never see or handle your card number, billing address, or any other payment detail.
Why: donations are entirely optional support for development, processed so we (and you) can confirm the purchase completed and Apple can issue a receipt.
Where it goes: the entire payment flow — collecting payment details, processing the charge, issuing receipts, and handling refunds — is handled by Apple's StoreKit system under Apple's Privacy Policy. We only receive confirmation that a transaction of a given tier succeeded.
3. What we do not collect
CirclingMaze does not require account creation, and we never ask for or collect your name, email address, phone number, or contact details through gameplay. The app does not access your contacts, photos, calendar, or precise GPS location, has no advertising or analytics SDKs, and has no chat, messaging, or social feature that could expose data to other users.
Children's privacy
CirclingMaze does not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through a third-party service integrated into this app, please contact us using the details on our Contact page so we can address it.
Your choices
- You can review or manage your purchase history at any time under Settings > [your name] > Media & Purchases on your device.
- Motion access can be revoked at any time in Settings > Privacy & Security > Motion & Fitness. Note this will disable gameplay entirely, since tilt is the app's only control method.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
